Enrolling Clinical Research Studies

Without clinical trials, all of the medications and treatments that we have today would not exist. In order to develop new treatments that are both safe and effective, testing must be done. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requires that all new medicines, devices and other therapies be vigorously tested to ensure that they are both effective and generally safe for use by the public.

Lucida Clinical Trials conducts Phase II to Phase IV clinical trials in our fully equipped facility. Lucida is dedicated to the successful conduct of all clinical trials and accelerating timelines for patients to receive safe and effective treatments.

Why do we need clinical trials?

Active Studies

NIMBLE STUDY: Eosinophilic Asthma

There is a need for a long-acting medication that can be administered less often to simplify patients’ asthma care. The NIMBLE Study is looking at a possible new medicine for people with eosinophilic asthma (a type of sever asthma). The study will look at how safe the study drug is and whether it works for adults and adolescents with eosinophilic asthma.

You may be able to take part in this study if you:

  • Are 12 years of age or over

  • Have severe asthma that has been controlled with mepolizumab or benralizumab for at least 12 months

ABTECT-1 STUDY: Ulcerative Colitis

The ABTECT-1 Study is being done to learn more about an investigational medication and its effect in people with ulcerative colitis. The study aims to see if 2 different doses of the investigational medication work in controlling symptoms and how safe the investigational medication is.

You may be able to take part in this study if you:

  • Are 18 years of age or over

  • Have been diagnosed with ulcerative colitis

  • Have experienced inadequate, no response, or loss of response while on other or previous ulcerative colitis medication

RED-C 3131 STUDY: Hepatic Encephalopathy and Liver Cirrhosis

The Red-C 3131 Study is active but no longer accepting participant applications.

The Red-C 3131 Study is testing a medicine to see whether it could safely delay or prevent hepatic encephalopathy in adults who have been diagnosed with liver cirrhosis.

You may be able to take part in this study if you:

  • Are between the ages of 18 and 85

  • Have been diagnosed with liver cirrhosis

  • Have not been diagnosed with overt HE (a severe form of HE)

  • Do not experience any cognitive issues due to HE or any other illness

  • Do not have an active COVID-19 infection

MAC PD STUDY: Mycobacterium avium Complex (MAC) Pulmonary Disease (PD)

The MAC PD study is researching a study drug to find out how well it works for adults with Mycobacterium avium Complex (MAC) pulmonary disease (PD).

You may be able to take part in this study if you:

  • Are 18 years of age or over

  • Have been diagnosed with pulmonary disease due to MAC

  • Meet all of the Inclusion Criteria

FIGHTN-CKD STUDY: High Blood Pressure and Chronic Kidney Disease

The fightn-CKD Study is testing an investigational drug to see whether it could help people with high blood pressure (hypertension) and chronic kidney disease (CKD).

CONCLUDE STUDY: Ulcerative Colitis

The aim of the CONCLUDE Study is to assess the safety and effectiveness of an investigational medication in people with moderate to severe ulcerative colitis.
