About Us

Lucida Clinical Trials is a multi-specialty research facility conducting Phase II to Phase IV clinical trials. It was established to conduct accurate and useful clinical research for the people of the South Coast. We value and dedicate ourselves to administering clinical trials with superior care. Our workspace allows us to conduct a wide range of testing.


Our Team


Dr. David J. Shih, MD, Lead Principal Investigator

Dr. Shih is board certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology. He completed his Internal Medicine residency and Nephrology fellowship at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center, Chicago. Dr. Shih has a large primary care and nephrology practice in the New Bedford area where he has been practicing since 1998.

Dr. Jason Reich

Dr. Reich received his medical degree at George Washington University in Washington D.C. He went on to complete a residency followed by a fellowship in Gastroenterology at Boston University & Boston Medical Center. Dr. Reich is a member of American College of Gastroenterology, the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the American Gastroenterological Association.

His clinical interests include inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, GERD, NASH and colon cancer.

Kevin LeBlanc, MSN, NP-C Sub-Investigator

Kevin is a graduate of University of Massachusetts. He has been a Nurse Practitioner since 2005. He started his career in Internal Medicine and has been working in Critical Care since 2010.

George is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts where he earned his Bachelors in Science in Hotel Management. He has been involved in prehospital emergency medicine since 2010.

Matthew Plante, Pharmacist

Matt is a graduate of Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. After obtaining his PharmD degree, Matt went on to complete a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire. Matt is a board certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist and currently practices as a clinical pharmacist specializing in Emergency Medicine/Critical Care.
